Arthur D. Bender, 61
October 15, 2018
Arthur Bender has left the building. Born November 25, 1956 in Quantico, Virginia, he was the son of Eliesa Nora Downing Bender and the late Claude Bender CWOII USMC Ret. He was also the brother of Paul Bender and Claudia Sciarretta. He is survived by his wife and soulmate, Rebecca “Becky” Bender; the proud father of four of the finest young men there are; Shawn, Matthew, Ryan, Brandon; four remarkable daughters in law, two step daughters, ten grandchildren and a great grandson.
Arthur’s colorful employment history included Tait Towers of Lititz, Atec and PSI Environmental as chief inspector and microscopist on the eastern airline’s hazmat cleanup project. Arthur was employed by Merk Construction and greatly appreciated the friendship and never-ending support of Mike Riehl (owner) and Mark Wolgemuth (co-owner).
There will be a memorial service honoring Arthur’s life and legacy at the Charles F. Snyder Jr., Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz PA, on Friday, October 19, 2018 at 1PM. Friends and family will be received from 12 to 1PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given in memory of Arthur to Vickie’s Angel Foundation, 511 Bridge St., P.O. Box 174, New Cumberland, PA 17070.
Arthur passed on Monday, October 15, 2018, after a ten year on and off battle with cancer. He never quit fighting that battle and will certainly have his hands full as a guardian angel to all those he loved.
