Archondia Kallergis, 81
Archondia (Drosos) Kallergis, 81, of Lancaster, passed away on Friday, May 30, 2008 at her daughter’s home in Sinking Spring, PA. Born in Pili, Kos, Greece, Archondia was the daughter of Odysseas and Katerini (Pashali) Drosos. She was married to Emmanuel Kallergis who died in November, 1997.
A homemaker, Archondia was a member of Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, of Lancaster, and St. Paul’s Philoptocos Society in Kos, Greece. She enjoyed embroidery, crocheting, cooking, and working in her garden. She loved spending time with her family and friends.
Surviving Archondia are her children, Demy Mandras, wife of Thomas, of Lancaster, Ekaterini Anastasiou, wife of Achilles, of New York, NY, and Joanna Petris, wife of George, of Sinking Spring; 6 grandchildren, Father Andrew, Emmanuel, Father George, Emmanuel, Archondia, Dimitri, and their families, and 5 greatgrandchildren.
She was the oldest of 12 children, and is survived by brothers Stamatis, Manolis, Nikos, and Alekos Drosos, and sister, Kypanio Kiosse of Greece, and brothers Drosos and Kostas Drosos, and sisters, Dimitra Hatzimarkoy and Sofia Svinov of Canada.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral service on Tuesday, June 3, 2008 at 11 AM at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 64 Hershey Ave., Lancaster, PA. There will be a viewing on Monday evening from 6 until 8 PM at the church, with a Trisagion service at 7 PM, and again on Tuesday morning from 10:30 until time of service. Interment will be in Conestoga Memorial Park. Please omit flowers, contributions may be made in Archondia’s memory to Hospice of Lancaster County, P.O.
