Anne L. Jackson

Anne L. Jackson passed peacefully from this life on April 16, 2008 after a 14 year battle with breast cancer.  Family and friends were at her side throughout her final days.  Born June 12, 1956, she was the daughter of the late Katherine and Stanley Deiter, Sr.  She was married to Bruce Jackson of Lancaster for 12 years.

She is survived by a daughter, Kristi Connelly of Lancaster, and a son, Shannon Connelly and daughter-in-law Erin (Wiley) Connelly of York.  In addition to her children, Anne is survived by her first granddaughter, Talia Connelly of York, and two brothers, Stanley Deiter of Ephrata and Ronald Deiter of Lancaster.

A 1974 graduate of Penn Manor High School, Anne worked for Bank of Lancaster County in the Human Resources Department for 25 years.  Later she was the office manager for Jackson’s Window Shoppe, and most recently worked for Town and Country Leasing.

Anne was a loving and supportive mother and grandmother.  Despite her battle with cancer she was a strong and compassionate individual who lived life to the fullest.

She enjoyed boating on the Chesapeake Bay and ski trips with her family and friends. She also vacationed at the beach during the summer, where she liked shopping, and reading with her feet in the sand.  Anne was a proud participant of the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life.

Friends and relatives are respectfully invited to attend the funeral service on Tuesday, April 22, 2008 at 1 PM at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home Inc., 414 E. King St., Lancaster, PA 17602.  A calling time will be held from 11:30 AM until 1 PM at the funeral home to pay respects to the family. A private burial will be held following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society, 314 Good Drive, Lancaster, PA 17603 are encouraged.

To Bruce Shannon and Kristi

Anne was one of the nicest people I have met. I have known Anne over 25 years and she was always upbeat and cheerful and never had a negitive comment about anyone.

I admired her courage during her illness and you would never have known she was sick. When I was diagnosed with Cancer a couple of years ago she encouraged me to stay positive.

She was a wondeful person and my prayers are with all of you at this time.

We will see her smiling face again!

Best Personal Regards

Jack Whalen

Shannon and Kristi –

I’m so sorry for your loss. I’m sure your mother is very proud of the two of you. As a friend of Anne’s it gave me great peace to see the love and support you gave your mom, her friends and family during these last few weeks. While there may be times that are difficult, take comfort in knowing that your mom is in a much better place with no pain, looking down on each of you.

It was a great tribute to Anne to see all of her family and friends come together. I know that I will greatly miss being able to see and talk to her.

All my love
