Anne Kosanovich Gordon, 87
Anne Kosanovich Gordon, age 87, passed peacefully at Hospice of Lancaster County on April 28, 2011. She died after a brief and stoic battle with cancer at Pleasant View Retirement Community in Manheim, Pennsylvania.
She was born in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania on March 6, 1924. Her parents were Serbian immigrants, Martha and Eli Kosanovich. She is survived by a sister Jennifer Zakovich, 2 brothers; Milo Kosanovich, and Nick Vincich, and sister-in-laws, Margarita Kosanovich Ann Carol Vincich.
Her beloved brother Bronc Kosanovich preceded her in death.
In addition she is survived by her former husband James B. Gordon, Wayne, Pa, and three daughters, Margaret, wife of Richard Hall and Patricia, wife of Gerard Link, both of Lititz, PA and Elizabeth, wife of Dennis McAndrews, Wayne, PA.
She is also survived by 10 grandchildren: Gordon, Lauren and Julia Hall, Emily (wife of Ryan Munyon), Patrick (husband of Esther Mosimann) and Brian Link, Caitlyn, Allyson, Jacqueline, and Brianna McAndrews and 31 nieces and nephews.
Anne was a proud graduate of Westminster College in 1945. She was an educator and taught in elementary and secondary schools for 25 years and then retired to West Chester, PA. She was an avid reader, gardener, cook and bridge player. She took great pride in her garden and enjoyed entertaining friends and family. She was an active member of Al-Anon and was a former mentor and advocate to many members. She also loved to travel and had great fun with friends and family.
Her family wishes to convey their sincerest appreciation and gratitude for the loving and compassionate care that she received at Pleasant View Skilled Nursing Home, Manheim PA and Hospice of Lancaster County.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the Funeral Service in the St. Elijah Serbian Orthodox Cemetery Chapel Brodhead Rd. Hopewell Twp., PA on Saturday, May 7, 2011 at 10am with The Very Rev. Fr. Stevan Stepanov officiating. Visitation will take place from 9-10am in St. Elijah’s Cemetery Chapel. Interment to follow in St. Elijah’s Cemetery. Family and friends are also invited to attend a Liturgical Service on Sunday, June 5, 2011 at 10am followed by a Memorial Service at 11:30am at St. Herman of Alaska Orthodox Church 1855 Middletown Rd. Gradyville, PA 19039.
