Anna Lois Earhart

Anna Lois “Laurie” Hess Earhart, age 85, died on August 7, 2006 at Brethren Village, Lancaster, Pa.

She was born on December 1, 1920 at Millersville, Pa.  and was the daughter of the late Rev. Jacob G. and Katie Charles Hess.

She is preceded in death by one daughter, Ann Louise Earhart Gibble. She is survived by one sister, Rhoda Weaver and one brother John H. Hess, both of New Holland, Pa.

On June 7, 1942 she married the Rev. J. Stanley Earhart of Manheim, Pa. who died on August 1, 2005. She is survived by two sons, William S. Earhart and wife Vickie of  Gainesville, Va., Robert L. Earhart and wife JoAnn of La Verne, Ca. and daughter Marguerite Earhart and husband Subhash Sarda, Marietta, Ga., ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

She graduated from Millersville High School and completed the Laboratory Technician Course at Lancaster General Hospital. She worked as a secretary and held other administrative positions during her lifetime. She was a life long member of the Church of the Brethren and served as choir director for a number of years. She also served on the Board of  Directors of  the Children’s Aid Society.

A memorial service will be held  on Wednesday August 16th at 3:00PM at Lampeter Church of the Brethren, Lampeter, Pa. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lampeter Church of the Brethren, 1900 Lampeter Road, Box 38, Lampeter, Pa. 17537-0038.
