Alexander A. Francer, 73

Alexander A. Francer, 73, of Holtwood, PA, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on June 24, 2019 at Lancaster General Hospital. Alexander was born in Germany on February 7, 1946. He was the son of the late Andrew and the late Maria Bukvic Francer.

He was employed by Buck Iron Company and a number of other establishments in the area. He loved gardening, canning and preserving his harvest. He was surrounded by a menagerie of stray and domestic animals for which he tended to and cared for.

Alexander is survived by his sister Maria H, and brother Joseph B both residing in Bowie, Maryland. He is also survived by four children, Alexander (Alex), Jeanie M, John D, and Adrienne, a number of grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

Alexander was preceded in death by his beloved brother, Andrew D. Francer; an infant grandchild, Lea Francer; and the mother of his children, his ex-wife, Barbara Francer.

A viewing will be from 10-11 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial to begin at 11 AM on Friday, July 5, 2019 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 558 W. Walnut Street, Lancaster, PA 17603. Alexander will be laid to rest at St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Alexander’s memory to the American Cancer Society, 314 Good Drive, Lancaster, PA 17603. Arrangements entrusted to Charles F.
