Agnes M. Zimmerman, 87
Agnes M. Zimmerman, 87, formerly of Fairway Dr., Lancaster, died Friday evening at Village Vista Manor. The family would like to thank everyone at Village Vista for the care and concern given to Agnes over the past several months, always treating her with dignity.
Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Frank A. and Emma E. Goffredi Maggioncalda. She was the wife of the late Augustine A. “Gus” Zimmerman who died in 2002. They celebrated 57 years of marriage together.
Mrs. Zimmerman was a homemaker and was very devoted to taking care of her family. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and a former member of Incarnation Catholic Church, Philadelphia and St. Joseph and St. Philip Catholic Church, Lancaster. She was active in St. Philip’s Seniors, St. Anne- Neumann Seniors, St. Joe’s Golden Hills, Sacred Heart Senior Hospitality Group, and St. Joseph’s Women’s Club. She enjoyed sewing, traveling, and baking cookies.
Surviving her are her daughters: Patricia, wife of Richard T. Harnish, of Lancaster, Joanne Angelo of Lancaster, and a son, Thomas M. Zimmerman, husband of Cynthia, of Brownstown; 6 Grandchildren, Michael, Matthew, and Megan Harnish and Brian, Kevin, and Justin Zimmerman; and a brother, James T. Maggioncalda of Sonoma, CA. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph A. Maggioncalda and Francis J. Maggioncalda, and two sisters, Rose Romano and Bernice Marinucci.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 558 W. Walnut St., Lancaster, on Thursday, February 22, at 11AM. Interment in St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery, Bausman. Friends may be received at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home, 441 N. George St., Millersville, on Thursday from 9AM-10AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dominican Sisters of the Perpetual Rosary, 1834 Lititz Pike, Lancaster, PA 17601.
