Adriaan Reuling, 90

Adriaan Reuling, 90, of Strasburg, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, February 18, 2020. Born in Amsterdam, Netherlands, Adriaan was the son of the late Adriaan and Maria J. (Kroon) Reuling. He was the loving husband of Marie (DiGiovanna) Reuling, with whom he celebrated 65 years of marriage.
Adriaan served in the Royal Dutch Navy and worked for Holland America Line, before immigrating to the United States in 1952. In New York City and Central Pennsylvania, Adriaan worked as a chef and manager for hotel, airline, and service industries. He enjoyed his leisure working with his hands. He was a craftsman, an animal lover, an antiquer, and a world traveler. Adriaan spent time coaching for the Lampeter-Strasburg Youth Soccer program.
In addition to his wife, Adriaan is survived by his two children: Ria Reuling Heft, wife of Jeff, of Strasburg and Andrew Reuling, husband of Karen, of Lancaster; four grandchildren: Robert, Chris, Justin, and Joshua Reuling; three step-grandchildren: Crystal Schreffler, wife of Nate, Andrew and Mikaila Heft; and one step-great-grandchild, Myla Schreffler. He was preceded in death by his sister, Ria Bijl.
Services for Adriaan will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane League of Lancaster County.

Oom Adrie, ik herinner niet veel van toen, maar van de feestjes en die geweldige piano in je basement en de lange kaartavonden met mijn ouders vergeet ik nooit.
