Abram L. “Abe” Kuhns, 81

Abram “Abe” L. Kuhns, 81, died Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at his Lancaster home. He was married to Benetta J. Coble Kuhns for 56 years. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Abraham L., Sr. and Susan A. Doman Kuhns.

Abe served in the US Army as a Tech Sergeant during the Korean War. He worked in the processing department at Penn Dairies for over 40 years. A lifetime member of Riverside Camping Association, he managed the club for a few years during retirement. Abe loved going deep sea fishing off Delaware.

Surviving in addition to his wife Benetta are his son Stanley F., husband of Jennifer Penwell Kuhns, daughters Linda L., wife of Dennis Nixdorf and Julie A., wife of Michael Laventure, 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, sisters Betty, wife of John Sloan and Mary Kuhns, all of Lancaster, and his brother Herbert Kuhns of Florida. Abe’s son Daniel Kuhns and five siblings preceded him in death.
