Lisa Johnson Atkins, 46

November 02, 2023

Lisa Johnson Atkins, age 46, passed away at her home on November 2, 2023. Born in Sellersville, PA, Lisa was the daughter of Robert and Carol Johnson.

Lisa was a graduate of Coatesville Area High School and received a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Millersville University. She worked for Eurofins Lancaster Laboratories, performing environmental testing, pharmaceutical testing, and data review functions throughout her 23-year career.

Lisa was an avid runner and her enthusiasm for half marathons was infectious. She had a unique tradition of combining her love for running with family vacations which created unforgettable memories for her family while traveling across the country. Lisa’s passion for running was a testament to her determination, discipline, adventure, fitness, and love of the outdoors.

In addition to her running pursuits, Lisa found joy in capturing the world’s beauty through her photography, hiking, gardening, pets, and building enduring friendships. Her deeply caring personality, perspective on life, empathy, selflessness, warmth, and ability to connect with anyone instantly drew people closer and made her a cherished friend to many.

She was a remarkable mother, with endless patience and undying love for the people she held dear. She was a person that you were able to go to for whatever that you needed, no matter how big or small your problem was. She was always happy to listen and give thoughtful and heartfelt guidance. She was an extraordinarily kind and truly amazing person.

Lisa is survived by her loving husband, Wesley B. Atkins, her adoring daughters, Evelyn and Amelia Atkins, and her mother, Carol, she is also survived by her brother, Michael Johnson, husband to Claudia, of Indianapolis, IN, and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Larry and Donna Atkins of Stanley, VA. Lisa is remembered by her brother-in-law, Adam Atkins, husband to Jessica, of Harrisonburg, VA, and her sister-in-law, April Robbins, wife to Stephen, of Stanley, VA, along with several nieces and nephews who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.

Lisa is preceded in death by her father, Robert.

Family will receive friends on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543 from 12pm to 1pm with a service beginning at 1pm. Burial to follow at Mellinger Mennonite Cemetery.
