Florence Elizabeth “Betty” Allshouse, 96, formerly of Stewartsville, NJ, passed away at Brethren Village in Lititz, PA on Monday, November 6, 2023. She was born in Revere, PA, daughter of the late Sylvester and Florence (Heller) Moninghoff.

Betty shared 60 wonderful years with her husband Robert E. Allshouse, before his passing in 2009. She worked as a clerk for the US Postal Service in Stewartsville, NJ for 35 years.

Family and friends were very important to Betty. She taught her family to love one another. A very faithful person, Betty loved the Church and her God, and she most recently worshipped at the Brethren Village Chapel.

Betty is survived by her daughter Diane M., wife of David Moore of Lancaster. She is the last of her immediate family, preceded in death by her four sisters, Agnes Oder, Catherine Litschauer, Edith Hoffman, and Gladys Proca. She adored all her nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. They were always in her prayers.

Betty’s family will greet guests from 1:30 to 2;00 pm, followed by the funeral at 2:00 pm on Thursday, November 16, 2023, with Rev. Dana Statler officiating at the Brethren Village Chapel, 3001 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543. Interment will be 11:00 am Friday, November 17, 2023, in Stewartsville Lutheran Cemetery, Stewartsville, NJ, with Rev. Stephen Choi officiating.

Condolences to the Family

November 10, 2023

Dear Diane and David,
It was an honor to know Betty via visits suggested by our Brethren Village Volunteer Services co-ordinator.
Until the very recent weeks Betty was able to tell wonderful stories of family, grocery store, community, etc.
I’m planning to attend the Thursday funeral, and looking forward to meeting you.
With prayers,
Connie Brown
