Dear Mr. Duing (and family):

I am so terribly sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. I always admired Mrs. Duing, your late-daughter, Cindy, and you. You probably don’t remember me, and if you do, you probably don’t have very fond memories of me. I went to school with Cindy at St. Anthony’s and Catholic High, and I would come over to your beautiful apartment above the store and spend time with Cindy so she wouldn’t be alone, while you and Sarah were at work. You guys were always so nice to me …. taking me to Hershey Park when you took Cindy, left me sleepover and share meals with you all … and countless other times. Unfortunately, upon graduation from High School, I was stupid and thought I "knew it all", and drifted away from Cindy and you guys. I’m sure I must have hurt Cindy’s feelings, and in the process hurt you guys too, and I will always be sincerely sorry and full of regrets. I hope that someday you can forgive me, as I hope Cindy and her mother will too. I know they are both together now and happy in God’s presence. May God bless them both and may they rest in peace. May God bless you too, Mr. Duing, for being such a good husband to Sarah and father to Cindy and an all-around good person. May God keep watch over you.

We just wanted to say again how much we loved Sarah. She was so thoughtful and caring to our children. Dawn and I will never forget how much she loved our dog, Mandy. She spoiled that dog as much as she spoiled the kids. Amanda and David never went away from a visit during the holidays without having candy to eat or something to wear. What great neighbors to have, we’ll always have the great memories we made over the years. She’ll be missed but never forgotten. We love you Red, and pray God will give you strength during this time of loss.
