George B. Heymann, 81
George B. Heymann, 81, of Lancaster died Sunday at his residence.
Previously, he was a Receiving Clerk for Federal Mogul. He was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and American Legion Post #34. George was a Past President of Lancaster Liederkranz. He played in Valentino’s Band and the Lancaster Liederkranz band for 20 years. He enjoyed collecting clocks, watches and antique glassware.
George served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.
Born in Rochester, PA George was the son of the late George and Rosemary Quill Heymann. He was married for 41 years to Auguste M. Witsch Heymann.
Surviving besides his wife are four children; Franz J. Heymann; Maria T. Weit; John F. married to Jennifer R. Heymann; Cathy R. married to Mike Missimer all of Lancaster; six grandchildren; two sisters; Roseanne married to Anthony Dialoiso; Margie Cerniglia both of Pittsburgh; a brother; Henry Heymann of Lancaster. He was preceded in death by a brother Frank Heymann.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 501 E. Orange St., Lancaster on Thursday at 11:00am. A viewing will be held at the church on Thursday morning from 10:00am until time of service. Interment in St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions in George’s memory may be made to Hospice of Lancaster County, PO Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604.
