Walter B. Blessing, 75
Walter B. Blessing, 75, of Lancaster, died Friday, June 9, 2006 at Lancaster General Hospital.
Born in Salunga, he was the son of the late Harry S. and Benarda H. Hess Blessing. He was the husband of Dorothy L. Wimer Blessing and they celebrate their 48th wedding anniversary on April 19.
Mr. Blessing worked as a machine operator for KD Tool for 18 years retiring in 1992. He was a corporal in the US Army serving in Germany during the Korean War. Walter was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Sacred Heart Hospitality Club, Mountville VFW, American Legion 185 in Mt. Joy, and Elks Club 1930 in Ephrata.
Surviving besides his wife are three daughters, Cheryl A. Blessing of Lancaster, Jean M. wife of Steve Hanna of Lancaster, and Nancy L. wife of Noel Wenrich of Lancaster; 3 grandchildren, Shawnna, wife of James Gehman of Ephrata, and Jeremy and Stephanie Wenrich, both of Lancaster; and a sister, Barbara Dissinger of MD. He was preceded in death by 3 sisters and 3 brothers.
Funeral services will be held at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home and Chapel, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, on Tuesday, June 13, 2006 at 11AM. Interment in St. Joseph new Catholic Cemetery. Friends may be received at the Funeral Home on Tuesday from 10-11AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, 630 Janet Ave., Lancaster, PA 17601, of the American Heart Association, 610 Community Way, Lancaster, PA 17603.
