Virginia W. Ziegfeld, 80
Virginia W. Ziegfeld, 80 of Lancaster died Wednesday, April 19, 2006 at Moravian Manor.
Born in Schenectady, NY, she was the daughter of the late Leonard and Julia Wilson. She was the beloved wife of the late William Ziegfeld with whom she celebrated 57½ loving years of marriage.
She is survived by a son; Stephen W. Ziegfeld of Lancaster married to Sandra M. Hollinger also of Lancaster, a daughter; Catherine A. Ziegfeld of Harrisburg, and a granddaughter; Pamela.
She graduated from St. Lawrence University. After raising her family, she was employed by the former Hamilton Watch Company and Swatch division for about 20 years. She volunteered for many years as a receptionist for Hospice of Lancaster County where she received an award for 1000 hours of volunteer service. She was active with her husband in Quest and a member of LESA. She loved spending time with her family and enjoyed traveling, playing bridge, cooking, sewing, and crafts. She was dearly loved by her family and respected by all who knew her. She, along with her husband was a founding member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church serving her Lord for many years on the Altar Guild.
A celebratory memorial service will be held at 11:30 on Monday, April 24, 2006 in the Chapel at Moravian Manor, 300 West Lemon Street, Lititz, PA 17543 with Rev. John Baldwin officiating. Friends may call at the Chapel from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her name to Hospice of Lancaster County, P.O. Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604-4125.
