Harold N. Brubaker, 84
Harold N. Brubaker, 84, formerly of 2443 River Rd., Bainbridge, died Thursday, September 28, 2006 at Beverly Health Care in Lancaster.
He was the husband of the late Janet M. Wendler Brubaker, who died in 1984. Born in Rohrerstown, Harold was the son of the late Herman N. and Estella Walters Brubaker.
He had worked as an auto mechanic for 46 years for the former Mellingers Ford West and the former Stadel Ford of Columbia, retiring in the early 1980s.
He was a US Army veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific Theater as a Master Sgt. He received Asiatic Campaign Medal with 2 bronze stars and an arrowhead device, and also received the Meritorious Unit Citation.
He was an avid hunter, a NASCAR fan, and enjoyed competing in radio controlled dirt track car racing. In his younger years, he had built sprint cars for competition.
He is survived by 3 daughters: Donna L. married to John Walker of York, Denise M. Miller, fiancée of John Weiss of Lancaster, and Tracy M. Brubaker of Mt. Joy; a son, Jeffery L. married to Linda Brubaker of Bainbridge; 2 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother, Christian Brubaker of Buffalo NY and a sister, Arla May Rutherford of Lancaster. He was preceded in death by a son, Dennis L. Brubaker.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend the graveside funeral services on Friday, October 13, 2006 at 11AM at Riverview Burial Park, South Duke St., Lancaster, PA.
