Blake V. Dulaney, 84
Blake V. Dulaney, 84, formerly of 619 Wyncroft Lane, Lancaster, died Sunday, February 26, 2006, at ManorCare of Lancaster.
Born in Lancaster, Blake was the son of the late Earl K. and Elsie Shenberger Dulaney. He was the husband of Evelyn P. Beaverstock Dulaney of Lancaster, to whom he was married 61 years this past November 23rd.
Mr. Dulaney had worked as an independent salesperson, representing various lines of jewelry and watches, from 1963 until his retirement in 1994. He had previously worked for 20 years for the Hamilton Watch Co.
He was a 1940 graduate of McCaskey High School, and an active and long-time member of First United Methodist Church of Lancaster.
A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, Blake served in the European Theater in the Northern France and Rhineland campaigns as a T/Sgt.
He was a member of Lancaster Toastmasters, the American Legion, enjoyed bowling and was a car enthusiast. He also enjoyed music, playing the harmonica, watching movies, and his longhaired dachshunds.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by 3 daughters: Kathryn E. married to Mario Kyriakou of Princeton, NJ, Sheila L. Dulaney of Raleigh, NC and Christine M. Dulaney of Lancaster; 2 grandchildren, Jonathan and Christopher Hummer, and 4 great grandchildren.
Friends will be received on Friday from 10-11AM at First United Methodist Church, Duke and Walnut Sts., Lancaster, PA with the memorial service to follow at 11AM. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to Hospice of Lancaster County, 685 Good Drive, Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604-4125.
