Philip W. Kirk, 47

Philip W. Kirk, 47, of Quarryville died Wednesday night at Hospice Essa Flory Center after a two year struggle with pancreatic cancer.

He was a warehouseman at Burnham Corp. for 29 years. He enjoyed going to the beach especially Ocean City, Maryland.

His fiancé was Melissa A. Stewart.  Born in Chattanooga, TN he was the son of Philip O. Kirk of Florida and Mary Ann Ortlieb Smith of Lancaster.  He was the step-son of Joseph M. Smith Jr. of Lancaster.

In addition, he is also survived by a son; Shawn P. married to Tiffany Kirk of Lancaster; one granddaughter and one grandson; one brother; Christopher L. married to Michelle Kirk of Lancaster; many aunts and uncles; and close friends, Steve and Crystal Bowman of Lancaster.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 440 St. Joseph St., Lancaster on Tuesday at 11:00am.  Friends may call at the church on Tuesday morning from 9:30am until time of service.  In lieu of flowers contributions in Philip’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, Hope Lodge, 636 W. Lexington St., Baltimore, MD 21201.
