Carol S. Rodriguez, 85

Carol S. Rodriguez, 85, of Lancaster, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 30, 2026, at Lancaster General Hospital. Born in Newark, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Alexander and Helen (Stawasz) Kozimor. Carol was a graduate of East Side High School in Newark, NJ.
She married her high school sweetheart, Robert L. Rodriguez, on September 22, 1962. Together they shared many loving years until his passing in 2024. Carol and Robert made their home in Howell for 40 years before settling in Lancaster, where they spent their later years. Carol devoted 17 years as a stay-at-home mother, lovingly raising her family before returning to the workforce in 1983.
Family was the heart of Carol’s life. She expressed her love through countless hand-knitted scarves, hats, and sweaters made especially for her children and grandchildren, each stitch a reflection of her care and devotion. She found joy in nurturing those she loved and took great pride in her growing family.
Carol also cherished quiet moment with a good book and had a lifelong love of reading. She carried herself with grace and elegance and was admired by all who knew her for her timeless class and elegant presence.
Carol had a deep love for travel and adventure. Over the years, she explored many destinations including Poland, Spain, France, Ireland, Scotland, England, and Alaska, with her final and cherished trip being to Italy.
She is survived by her six children: James Rodriguez, Susan, wife of John Ponzuric; Gregory, husband of Caroline Rodriguez; Matthew, husband of Lena Rodriguez; Heather, wife of Fred Bauer; and Douglas Rodriguez. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Mercedes, Jonus, Myranda, Aidan, Isaiah, Thomas, and Catherine; her great-grandchild Julian; and her sister, Eileen D’Ignazio.
In addition to her husband, Carol was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas Kozimor.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Carol’s Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Mount Carmel, 235 East State Street, Doylestown, PA 18901, on Saturday February 14, 2026, at 10:30AM. Interment will follow at the National Shrine of Our Lady of Czestochowa Cemetery.
