Luis A. “Larry” Vaddy Rivera, 40
February 4, 1985 - January 21, 2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Luis A. “Larry” Vaddy Rivera, a cherished son, devoted father, loving brother, and loyal friend. Luis was born on February 4, 1985, in Guayama, Puerto Rico, and he passed away unexpectedly on January 21, 2026, at the age of 40.
Larry was a proud Philadelphia Eagles fan, and his love for the team brought him joy and camaraderie with friends and family alike. But more than football, Larry found delight in the simple pleasures of life, bonding with his daughter over food and movies, creating memories that will live on in their hearts. His humble and kind spirit touched everyone around him, and he always made time to share a kind word or a helping hand.
He loved to take hikes in the mountains, often retreating to these natural sanctuaries to reconnect with both nature and God. He was steadfast in his faith, generously sharing the word of God and praying for the needs of others. His world revolved around his family, and his caring heart provided them with not just love, but also inspiration.
Larry is survived by his beloved mother, Marisol Vaddy of Lancaster; his daughter Larrina Vaddy of Lancaster; siblings, Claribel Vaddy of Lancaster, Solmarie Vaddy Rivera of Lancaster, Joan Marie Vaddy of Lancaster, Justin Michael Rivera of Florida, and Pedro Torres of Lancaster; a bonus brother, Naro Rivera of Lancaster; nieces and nephews, Jeleina Vargas, Jonathan Vargas, Selena Vaddy, Alexander Vaddy, Zaden Rivera, and Alani Rivera, as well as a host of extended family including aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in passing by his father, Johnny Vaddy Zayas Sr. and brother Johnny Vaddy Zayas Jr.
In honoring Larry’s memory, we invite friends and family to gather for a series of services to celebrate his life. A public viewing will take place at Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 414 E. King St. Lancaster on January 30, 2026, starting at 10:00 am with his funeral service beginning at 12:00 pm. Following the service, we will proceed to the graveside for burial at Mellinger Mennonite Cemetery.
In these moments of remembrance, we hope to reflect on the warmth, joy, and love that Luis brought into our lives. He may be gone, but his spirit and the love he shared will continue to resonate within all who knew him. May he rest in peace.
