Cheryl L. “Cherie” Roonan, 78, passed away at her Lititz, PA, residence on Tuesday, January 20, 2026. Cherie shared 33 years of marriage with her husband Thomas M. Roonan before he passed away in 2005.

She was born in Cortland NY, the daughter of the late Lawrence P. and Mary E. (Rounds) Mahar. She graduated from Virgil Central School in 1965, Virgil, NY. Her class of 17 was the last to graduate from Virgil before moving all students to Cortland Junior Senior High School.

Cherie worked for Dental EZ in Lancaster, PA, as a dental equipment assembler for 15 years.

She enjoyed tending to her flower gardens, bird watching – especially hummingbirds and bluebirds, reading, going to book sales, and monthly lunch with the girls.

Cherie’s family includes her son, Philip C. Beiter, husband of Kristi of Lititz, and children, Philip, Michael, and Meagan, all of Florida, her daughter, Brenda L., wife of David Minney of Lititz, and children, Andrew and Aidan both of Lititz, and her daughter, Linette M. Roonan of Lancaster, and her children, Lana and Elijah, both of Texas. Also surviving Cherie are her sister Connie, wife of John Cutler of Cortland, NY, her brother Michael Mahar, husband of Laura of Greenville, NC, and several brothers and sisters-in-law.

Services will be private.
