Kathleen A. “Kathy” Brader, 76
May 24, 1949 - December 26, 2025
Kathleen A. “Kathy” Brader, age 76, entered eternal rest on December 26, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on May 24, 1949, in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Anne (Nonn) Baxter. She cherished over 55 years and shared a beautiful family with her husband, Robert “Bob” Brader.
A graduate of Lancaster Catholic High School, she went on to study speech therapy at Carlow College in Pittsburgh, before dedicating her life to her children and her community. She started as a youth cheerleading coach for Manheim Township Schools and over the years worked her way up to head cheerleading coach. She also spent countless hours and held several offices with the Manheim Township Mat Club, where she would take photos and create scrapbooks for each of the wrestlers and their accomplishments. Her work with the local Democratic Headquarters was recognized by presidents Clinton and Obama, which was an honor she treasured. Kathy was an award-winning handler of Irish Setters with the American Kennel Club, volunteered for the March of Dimes, was an active member of the Elks Lodge #134, where she participated in numerous charity events, and a member of the PACE Miata Club. In her leisure time, she was an active calligrapher.
Her love and memories will live on in her husband Bob; their children, Jennifer Shaffer, wife of Frank, of Perkasie, PA, Dr. Christopher Brader husband of Lindsey, of Wedington, NC, and Andrew Brader, and his significant other, Katie Russell, of Lancaster; grandchildren, Sierra, Emma, Evan, Carter, Declan, and Asher; as well as her siblings, Christine Baxter, Maureen Von Trease, and Thomas Baxter.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
