Irvin H. “Sonny” Brenner Jr., 95

December 20, 2025

There is a place amongst the trees, in the mountains just for me. Tread lightly now and do not fear for God and I are always near.

We are sorry to announce the passing of Irvin H. “Sonny” Brenner Jr., born in Lancaster. He passed away on Saturday, December 20, 2025 at the age of 95.

He was the loving husband of Elizabeth “Betty” Seachrist Brenner, with whom he shared 70 years of marriage this past September 24th. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Irvin H., Sr. and Edna V. Mowery Brenner.

Irvin retired from Interstate trucking after 35 years of service and continued driving for Yellow and Penn Supreme. He was a lifelong member of Teamsters Union 771.

He attended Lancaster Church of The Brethren, and in the past was a lifetime member of Abbeyville Church of Christ. He served in many capacities along with many years of church league softball and bowling.

Irvin was a US Army veteran, serving during the Korean War as a corporal, being stationed in Germany.

A true outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and being outdoors as much as he could. He also liked to go antiquing and restoring furniture.

In addition to his wife, Elizabeth, he is survived by his children: Kim S. Brenner wife of Steven Keen of Millersville, Timothy I. husband of Carol Brenner of Mount Joy, and Todd M. husband of Karen Brenner of Lititz; his 5 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Also survived by a brother Harold Brenner and sister Maryann Gilgore. He was preceded in death by his siblings Donald Brenner, Ruth Burns, Nancy Thompson, and Betty Lou Dorsey.

Memorial services for Irvin will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions in Irvin’s memory to Hospice & Community Care, 685 Good Drive, Box 415, Lancaster, PA 17604-4125 hospiceandcommunitycare.org
