L. Jamie Hirschberger, 80, of Lancaster, passed away on Monday, November 3, 2025, at his residence.
Born in Wilmington, DE, he was the son of the late Edward and Anne (Pallis) Hirschberger. He was the loving husband of Karen (Corcoran) Hirschberger. They were married for 28 years.
Jamie dedicated his life to serving others through his commitment to fire services. He proudly served as Fire Chief of Eden Fire Company #24 and as Fire Chief of Armstrong World Industries Floor Plant. Over the years, he also worked in Health and Safety at C & D Battery Company in Leola and for Stauffer of Kissel Hill. Jamie loved to travel, especially going on cruises. He was often seen wearing one of his favorite Caribbean button-up shirts. He was deeply devoted to his family and made it a priority to attend his grandchildren’s extracurricular activities when he could. He also has a special passion and knew a great deal about Lancaster County history.
He is survived by his wife, Karen Hirschberger; children, Tony (Lara) Wagner, Brett (Courtney) DiSario, and Keri Spitz; his grandchildren, Anthony (Halle), Alex (Madison), Brayden, Aubrey, Kaitlyn (Kevin), and Tyler; and great-grandchildren, Matthew, Ava, and Leona.
He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Michael Hirschberger.
Services for Jamie are being held privately at the convenience of the family.
