Kenneth J. Mayes, 81

October 26, 2025

Kenneth J. Mayes, 81, of Willow Valley, entered eternity on Sunday, October 26, 2025. Born in Teaneck, NJ he was the son of the late Herbert James and Edith Winifred (Greenaway) Mayes. He was the loving husband of Faith Marie (Grant) Mayes with whom he shared over 24 years of marriage.

Kenneth graduated from Baldwin-Wallace College in Berea, Ohio with a BS degree in Accounting and received his MBA from Kent State University. He was elected as a member of Bets Alpha Psi-Accounting Honorary.

A serious follower of Jesus Christ, Ken was known for his thoughtfulness and care for everyone he met. He was a creative thinker and problem solver who used his exceptional abilities to turn around companies in trouble. He loved Bible study, gardening, talking sports -for which he had a great deal of knowledge, and helping anyone in any way possible. He had a playful element to his personality that endeared him to everyone and attracted small children. His warm heart and gentleman-like behavior always made one feel safe when with him.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his beloved children: Gregory Mayes, husband of Tonia O’Connor Mayes, Heather Gleason, wife of Joe and Halle Majchrzak, wife of Kyle. Also surviving are seven grandchildren and two brothers.

A Memorial Service will be held at 12PM on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Charles F. Snyder III Funeral Home & Crematory, 2421 Willow Street Pike, Willow Street, PA 17584. Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Family and friends will be received from 11AM-12PM at the funeral home on Saturday.

Condolences to the Family

We loved Ken’s dry, quick and quiet wit, the twinkle in his eye and the warmth that he exuded!  He exemplified Christ in word and deed. A true gentleman whom we are thankful and blessed to have known.

I’m sorry for your loss. Some of my best memories at Willow Valley were talking to Ken Mayes about family and investing. He brought me all of his Wall Street Journals at the end of the week. He will be missed. Clayton Dimitris
