Joseph L. “Joe” Rudy, 77

October 23, 2025

Joseph L. “Joe” Rudy, 77, of Manheim, passed away on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at Pleasant View Communities. Born in Strasburg Township, PA, he was the son of the late Harry H. and Ada O. Eberly Rudy. Joe was the loving husband of Gail L. Hoover Rudy and they observed 54 years of marriage this past April. A truck driver, Joe drove for W. H. John’s and in later years he delivered parts for Hunter Keystone Peterbilt. A man of faith, he was a proud and active member of Mill Creek Bible Church. Joe was an avid hunter who enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially in Potter County. Through these trips, the number of deer dwindled; however, the number of friendships with his brothers only grew. He had a servant’s heart and a deep love of helping others, through both missions and rebuilding communities in need. Camping, motorcycle riding and tinkering with his John Deere tractor were other loves of Joe’s. You could always lean on him to offer a listening ear and open heart.

Surviving in addition to his wife, Gail, are two children, Teryn wife of David Bollinger, Jansen husband of Kathrine Rudy, as well as four grandchildren, Dakota, Caelyn, Lauren, and Evelyn. Also surviving are three brothers and two sisters. Preceding him in passing are two brothers and two sisters.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a time of viewing and visitation at Bachman Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 7 Decatur Street, Strasburg, PA, 17579 on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, from 6:00-8:00 PM. There will be a funeral service held at Mill Creek Bible Church, 270 Strasburg Pike, Lancaster PA 17602 on Thursday, October 30 , 2025, at 11:00 AM. There will be a time of viewing and visitation at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Interment will be in Strasburg Cemetery. Those desiring may send contributions in Joe’s memory to Mill Creek Bible Church, 270 Strasburg Pike, Lancaster PA 17602.
