Rosina Macrina, 95

Rosina Macrina, age 95, of Lancaster passed away peacefully on October 15, 2025 at her home.

Rosina was the wife of the late Francesco Macrina, with whom she shared 52 years of marriage.

Born in Gasperina, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Francesco and Carmen (Catrabone) Castano.

Rosina immigrated to the United States in June 1966.

Rosina loved to cook and above all, she loved spending time with her family.

Rosina is survived by her children: Marianna (Gesino) Sgro of Lancaster, Maria E. Macrina of Lancaster, Francesco Macrina, Jr. of Lancaster; son in-law: Pietro Lombardo of Switzerland; 8 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; her siblings: Philomena McKinney and Gregory Castano as well as many nieces and nephews.

Rosina is preceded in death by her daughter Elisabetta Lombardo and her grandson Giuseppe Lombardo of Switzerland and two sisters: Titina Heisler and Sandra Hickey.

Rosina would like to thank all the doctors and nurses of Serenity Hospice and Visiting Angels that provided the same loving care in her last weeks that she gave others her entire life.

Family will receive friends on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at St. Anne and Our Lady of La Vang Catholic Church, 929 N Duke St, Lancaster, PA 17602, from 9AM to 10AM with a Mass of Christian Burial to begin at 10AM. Interment to follow St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Anne and Our Lady of La Vang Catholic Church.
