Vicenta Arroyo, 87
October 08, 2025
Vicenta Arroyo, 87, of Lancaster, PA, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Patillas, Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of the late Monica Silva and the beloved wife of Andre Arroyo.
Vicenta was a devoted member of San Juan Bautista Catholic Church, where her faith remained a guiding light throughout her life. She will be remembered for her warmth, her joyful spirit, and her deep love for her family.
She found joy in life’s simple pleasures — spending time at the Spanish Center, playing Bingo, doing word searches, dressing up for any occasion, and hosting lively family gatherings at her home. Her home was always filled with love, laughter, and the comforting aroma of her cooking. Vicenta’s famous sancocho and vianda will be deeply missed at every family table.
She took great pride in her beautiful flowers and plants, tending to them with the same care and devotion she gave to those she loved. Her kind heart extended even to her beloved pets — her grandpuppy Mimi and her bird Boobie, who brought her much joy and companionship.
Vicenta is survived by her children: Robinson Gonzales of Puerto Rico, Mary Castillo of Buffalo, NY, Carmen Arroyo of Florida, Jose Arroyo of Lancaster, and Anastasia Arroyo of Lancaster. She was blessed with 18 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren who will forever cherish her memory.
She was preceded in death by her sisters Paulina and Genoveva.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12 PM on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at San Juan Bautista Catholic Church, 425 S. Duke Street, Lancaster, PA 17602. Family and friends will be received from 10 AM S. Duke Street, Lancaster, PA M until the time of service. Interment will follow at Mellinger Mennonite Cemetery.
Vicenta’s legacy of love, laughter, and faith will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know her.
