Chas and I have been friends since the seventh grade, his perpetual smile will always be his defining trait for me. He will also be remembered for his mastery of the art of making fun of people including himself without one ounce maliciousness.  Along with his wife Davey  kept our class together by sending out ecards and emails of classmates that we have lost.  I especially want thank Chas and Davey for cc’s that went out with those emails and ecards since they remind us of all the people that made our class special “back in the day”. I will miss my dear friend and that simplistic, accepting smile. He was one of kind with his friendship making us all better people.

Condolences to the family and to Davy, yours was a match made in heaven. I knew Chas since junior high school football where he starred and I labored on the third string primarily holding tackling dummies which he regularly knocked over. He was a good man and the glue that held the class of 61 together. I know I will speak for others when I say how much his cards over the years served  to brighten up our days. When I arrive in heaven ( if and when) I hope to hold those tackling dummies again and get smashed to the ground by Chas. Ross Warfel

Deepest condolences to Davene & Family.  With great respect: Salute to a longtime friend, fellow Veteran, and Classmate.  Chas was the “Mighty Servant” of The JP McCaskey Class of 1961. He was THE Hub that kept us all connected over the past 64 years.  As is charactristic of my close freinds, Chas left nothing on the table giving his all in mind, body, and Spirit.  Grace, Mercy, and Peace to all of us who grieve. Jere Brandt
