Luis A. Jimenez Rosario, 76
October 06, 2025
Luis A. Jimenez Rosario, 76, of Lancaster, passed away peacefully on October 6, 2025.
Born in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico, he was the son of Ramona Rosario Rosario and the late Luis Antonio Jimenez DeLeon. He was the devoted husband of Juanita Jimenez, with whom he would have celebrated 33 years of marriage this December.
Known to many as “El Pinchero” or the “Pinchero in Chief,” Luis was well-loved for the delicious pinchos he cooked and shared throughout the Lancaster community. What began as a way to provide for his family grew into something much greater, a calling that brought people together. Whether selling his famous pinchos on the street, feeding his family, or serving the congregation of San Juan Bautista at festivals and parish events, Luis’s grill was a place of joy, warmth, and generosity.
A man of deep faith and service, Luis was a devoted and active member of San Juan Bautista Catholic Church, where his presence in the kitchen became a cherished part of every celebration. His passion for cooking was matched only by his willingness to help others, he was “everybody’s handyman,” known for his skill, creativity, and endless stream of “inventions.”
Luis was also a hardworking man who took great pride in his work. He was employed full time as a welder for 38 years before retiring from High Steel Structures, and for 18 of those years, he also worked part time in the evenings as a custodian at the Lancaster County Courthouse. His strong work ethic, good humor, and steady kindness left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
Above all, Luis’s greatest treasure was his family. He loved nothing more than spending time with them, cooking for them, and watching them come together around the table.
In addition to his mother and his wife, he is survived by his children: Maura A. Jimenez, Carmelo Claudio, Maribel Jimenez, Javier Claudio, Ramonita married to Jay O’Maille, Albert married to Nancy Solis, Margarita married to Erik Trowery, Leida Rivera, Angela Rivera, and Angel Rivera; his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his brothers, Juan M. and Raymond J. Jimenez. He was preceded in death by his brother, Adalberto Jimenez.
Friends may visit with Luis’s family on Saturday, October 11, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at San Juan Bautista Catholic Church, 425 S. Duke St., Lancaster, PA 17602, with the Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 1 p.m. Flowers will be accepted, or contributions in Luis’s memory may be made to the Youth Group at San Juan Bautista at the above address.

My dear tio! You will definitely be missed, especially your big hugs and that “Mija como tú estas, Dios te bendiga” everytime you seen me, or telling me about myself for arriving late to our Family Reunions when you were always the 1st one there to light up that Grill…we had our own personal Grill Master for sure! But I rememeber our last one just this year, I got there before you and you were definitely impressed that I was there…our last hug! I will miss seeing you when I come back to Lancaster to visit for sure and especially at our Family Reunions, next year will sure be different, but one thing I know is that you will never be forgotten! You have been a part of my family for over 3 decades and you are loved by so many and by me..and I hope you knew that! Thank you for loving my titi and my cousins, your gained grandkids as your own and especially for loving all the nieces and nephews you gained when you married my dear titi! I pray for everyone’s comfort during this time and send my love to all who are mourning your loss! I will forever cherish all the moments with you! Love Kisha! <3 Kisha Vazquez
