Patricia “Patty” Ann Radell Hale Wartman, 85

Patricia “Patty” Ann Radell Hale Wartman, 85, of Willow Valley, passed away Thursday, September 25, 2025, at The Glen at Willow Valley Communities, surrounded by her loving husband and family.
Born in Cortland, New York, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth G. Radell and Audrey Louise VanBuskirk (Cincotta). She was the wife of Roger “Rick” Louis Wartman.
Formerly of Homer, NY, she lived in Northfield, OH, Pinehurst, NC, and most of her life in Lancaster, PA.
Patty graduated with honors from Homer High School in 1958 and went on to earn an associate’s degree in Secretarial Science with Honors from Alfred State University in1960. In both her high school and collegiate tenure, she was active in sports, cheerleading, chorus, musicals, plays, various clubs and the PNU Sorority.
Patty held various positions throughout her career in management and executive assistant positions including: IBM, Ford Motor Co., Omni Sports & Snow Shed Ski Shop, Clabell Management Company as Property Manager for The Village of Olde Hickory, Concept 100 Real Estate, Environmental Security, Inc., Herley Industries, Inc., Sight & Sound, and Childcraft Education Corp., a Disney owned company.
Patty also served the communities in which she lived. In Lancaster, she served as President of St. Leo’s Women’s Guild, Chairperson of the Sales & Marketing Executive’s Club, Board Member of the Welcome Wagon, Charter Member and Chairperson of La Sertoma, served on the Board of Trustees of the Rockford Foundation and Lancaster Ski Club. Patty also assisted in raising funds for the Women’s Abuse Center, Chamber of Commerce, Junior Achievement, and Fulton Theatre. Patty also introduced the first infant swim program at Golden Meadows Swim Club.
While living in North Carolina, she volunteered as a fund raiser for a new hospice campus and chapel for seven years; volunteered for US Kids World Golf Champions at Pinehurst Country Club for 13 years; and Chairperson for her community’s New Year’s formal dinner and dance parties for hundreds of people.
Of the Catholic Faith, Patty was a parishioner of St Margarets, Homer, NY, St Leo’s Lancaster, PA and recently Mary Mother of the Church, Mount Joy.
She enjoyed downhill skiing, golf, tennis, gardening, bridge, theater, reading, dominoes, mah jongg and canasta. But most importantly to Patty was her family, who she loved greatly.
In addition to her husband, Rick, Patty is survived by her brothers: Ken Radell (Linda), Richmond, VA, Sam Cincotta (Janice), Cortland, NY, John Cincotta (Pam), Cortland, NY and Mike Cincotta (Kathy), Homer NY. She is also survived by her children: Kelly Hale Warfield, of Hudson, WI, David Hale, of Lancaster, and Thomas Hale, of Mount Joy. In addition, she had five grandchildren: Meredith Merkle (John) of Dade City, FL, Lindsay Schell (Bobby), San Francisco, CA, Ian Hale, Southport, NC, Parker Warfield (Molly) Minneapolis, MN and Chase Warfield, Minneapolis, MN. Lastly, she had five great grandchildren: Lucy, Angie, Peter, John, and Gregory Merkle of Dade City, FL.
Public Memorial Services for Patty will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 44 N. Main Street, Cortland, NY, at 9 AM on Saturday, October 11, 2025. A private family Interment will be at Glenwood Cemetery, 51 S. West St., Homer, NY 13077.
