Susan Wade Sensenig
September 28, 2025
“See, I told you I wasn’t feeling well…”
Susan Wade Sensenig passed away on September 28, 2025, with her husband by her side after a short bout with bile duct cancer. She was predeceased by her mother, Christine Wade and her father, Lewis Wade.
She was a member of the Manheim Township class of ’81 and graduated college in 1985. Following her graduation, she began a career in radio broadcasting with 101 the Rose, and 1490 WLPA Sports Radio where she was the program director. After retirement from radio she went to work for Giant Foods on Lititz Pike in Lancaster where she found a whole new work family.
She belonged to multiple organizations including the Pennsylvania Jaycees, the Lancaster Jaycees, Red Rose Breakfast Sertoma, and the LCHS Carnival Committee.
She is survived by her college sweetheart of 42 years, Kelvin, and her son, Danny who was the absolute light of her life. She is also survived by her brother, Jeffrey Wade and other family in both Lancaster and Western Pennsylvania. Also, Kaitlyn Thomas, a coworker at Giant whom she truly considered to be her adopted daughter and cared very deeply for.
In lieu of flowers, please direct donations to the Lancaster Pet Pantry in her name.
No funeral is planned as Sue found them to be rather depressing. Instead, a celebration of her life will be held at the family’s discretion in the New Year.
Her final request to everyone is to please be kind to each other and care for those who need it. No matter who they are.

Sue and I worked together at 1490 WLPA for twenty years. Bill Baldwin Sr called us Greg & Marcia. When she and I would get into an..um…”vocally enthusiastic” disagreement, Bill would explain, ah, Greg and Marcia are just fighting over who gets the attic for their bedroom. Lots of memories across twenty years. The one that sticks out the most was when she took me to the Sportswriter’s banquet in 2006. The featured speaker was Bart Starr. I grew up in Madison, WI during the Lombardi era. The Green Bay Packers were the God’s of our youth. After all those years, I finally got to meet, talk with, and get an autograph from number 15. Something’s suddenly come up. Thanks Marcia. You know you really are very groovy chick! Mark Wolf
