Helen T. Parham, 97
September 26, 2025
Helen T. Parham, lovingly known as “Miss Honey,” passed away on September 26, 2025, at the age of 97. Born November 4, 1927, in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of Francis Thornton and a lifelong Philadelphian until moving to St. John Neumann Center for Rehabilitation and Healthcare in 2021.
Miss Honey retired from the Philadelphia Police Department after more than 25 years in custodial services. She was known for her strength, determination, and independent spirit. Never one to back down, she lived life on her own terms and didn’t take nonsense from anyone.
She loved family gatherings, especially when she could fill the house with music, dancing, food, and laughter. She enjoyed shopping and always made sure she was dressed to the nines, with a style all her own.
Helen was the mother of five children. She is survived by her sons Paul Parham of Philadelphia and Hilton Ridley (Dona) of Lancaster, PA, and was preceded in death by her children Joseph, Cecelia, and Leila Parham, and a granddaughter, Jenelle Parham. She also leaves behind several beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A private family viewing will take place at Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home in Lancaster, PA, with a family memorial service to be held at a later date.
Miss Honey left this world the way she lived in it – strong, stylish, and unforgettable. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
