September 22, 2025
Joyce “Lynn” Krantz, 79, of Lancaster, PA, passed away on September 22, 2025. Born on May 11, 1946, in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Alexander and Joyce McIntyre.
Lynn graduated from McCaskey High School in 1964 and went on to attend Penn Hall Junior College. For over 20 years, Lynn was employed at Franklin & Marshall College serving in various roles including Secretary to the President of the College, and Office Coordinator in the Physics and Astronomy Department, where she was dedicated to supporting students and faculty alike.
She had a love for reading and especially enjoyed true crime books and media. She also liked watching Little House on the Prairie and The Waltons. Lynn was an avid bridge player, enjoyed knitting gifts for family and friends, and loved time spent at the beach, especially vacations to Cape May. A good cup of coffee and a nice chat were among her favorite things. Her greatest source of happiness was her six wonderful grandchildren. She drew an immense pride and joy from each and every one of them.
Lynn was a member of the Hempfield Women’s Club and served on the Republican Committee of East Hempfield Township. She was a parishioner of St. Michael’s Lutheran Church and later, after her conversion, of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church.
In addition to her parents, Lynn was preceded in death by her husband, John L. Krantz. She is survived by her sons, John M. Krantz (Kami) of Red Lion, PA and Alexander R. Krantz of Manchester, NH; her sister, Cindy McIntyre (Victor C. Hugo) of Lancaster; and her beloved grandchildren: LCpl Zander M. Krantz, US Marine Corps, serving in Japan; McKean D. Krantz of Red Lion; and Emma M. Krantz, Tatum R. Krantz, Elliot S. Krantz, and Luke A. Krantz, all of Manchester, NH. She is also survived by many extended family members.
A funeral service for Lynn will be held on Wednesday October 1, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Bachman Snyder Funeral Home, 7 S. Decatur Street, Strasburg, PA. Family and friends will be received one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Strasburg Mennonite Cemetery.
