Carolyn M. Adams, 82
September 05, 2025
Carolyn M. Adams, 82, of Lititz, PA, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 5, 2025.
Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Loretta (Zahm) and Stanley Messey. Carolyn was the beloved wife of James S. “Jim” Adams, with whom she shared 65 years of marriage, a partnership filled with love, adventure, and devotion.
A dedicated businesswoman, Carolyn was the proud owner of Carolyn’s Notary Service, where she served her community with integrity and care. She was also a member of the Lititz Church of the Brethren, where her faith was a guiding presence throughout her life.
Carolyn found great joy in traveling and spending time with her family. She cherished summers at Rehoboth Beach, DE, and the peaceful days at the family cabin in Potter County. With Jim by her side, she traveled extensively, most memorably on a cross-country RV journey that took them to Mount Rushmore, St. Louis, Crazy Horse, the Dakotas, and the Grand Canyon. Their adventures also included an Alaskan cruise that brought lasting memories.
At home, Carolyn was known as a talented cook, especially loved for her homemade chicken pot pie. She also enjoyed golfing and the many friendships that came with it.
Above all, Carolyn’s greatest joy was her family. In addition to her husband Jim, she is survived by her three sons: Jim Adams, husband of Marsha, of Lititz; Neil Adams, husband of Amy Mentzer, of Lititz; and Bruce Adams, husband of Lugene, of Brunnerville. She was a proud grandmother to six grandchildren, Dereke, Brynn, Dylan, Cole, Blake, and Nicole, and six great-grandchildren, Ty, Hailee, Nora, Wyatt, Delaney, and Michael.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM on Monday, September 15, 2025, at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home and Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543. Family and friends will be received from 10 AM until the time of service.

Going to the beach will not be the same without Carolyn with me. Never missed going once a year for 30 years together. Best friend. Robbin Flegal

Aunt Carolyn, you were always there for me, especially when my son had surgery at Hershey Med when he was a baby. You allowed me to use you as my model for my cosmetology test. I will always remember the family camping trips as a child we had with the Johnson and Adams families. You and Uncle Bill came to every wedding of my children. I will miss you dearly. Please tell my parents and Grammy and pappy they are missed too. I love you. Barbara Oxenreider
