I was saddened to read a hand written message and copy of Earl’s obituary sent to me by “Pete”. I have such fond memories of my many hours waitressing at the Paragon Tavern with Annie and the many regular customers on a Saturday night, back in the early 80 ‘s while I attended college. Earl always brought a smile to my face as he held a silent watchful eye over the action in the dining room. He had a big heart and loving manner expressed in a few words. I am so sorry for your loss. . Cindy (Meinecke) Lotz

Earl was one of my dad’s first friends when he moved to Masonic Village last year. He used to bring my dad maltballs and always made him laugh. Honestly, he made everyone laugh. I was lucky to get to know Earl over this past year, and I have to admit, I loved that he’d often tell me I was “one hell of a woman,” and made me feel like one of the crew. He was such a good man.

I got to talk to him the night he passed. As we sat listening to live music on the patio, he sipped a beer and laughed with all of his friends. At one point I asked him what the secret was to living a long life. He looked up and said, “Faith.” He told me it got him through a lot of hard times. I’ll always remember that, and it’s made me want to strengthen my own faith.

Earl was one of a kind. He’s going to be missed in a big way. I feel so blessed to have know him. 💙
