Robert W. Schenke, 80
July 14, 2025
Robert W. Schenke, 80, of Willow Street, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2025.
Born in Far Rockaway, New York, he was the son of the late Reynold E. and Esther Schenke. Robert attended Pennsylvania Military College but later switched to the civilian side when PMC merged with Widener University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in political science. After working alongside his father in tool and die manufacturing, he launched his own business in 1975, manufacturing mechanical candles—a unique venture he sustained for four decades until around 2013.
A quiet and thoughtful man, Robert had a variety of hobbies that brought him joy over the years. He was an avid photographer and took pleasure in building model cars, rockets, and boats. A lifelong learner, he had a deep appreciation for history, particularly military history. Robert also enjoyed automobiles, whether vintage classics or modern designs. Known for his sharp wit and wicked sense of humor, Robert brought laughter and insight to those around him. He was also a proud member of the Masonic fraternity.
Robert is survived by his beloved children, Kelly Schenke, wife of Michelle Marmo, and Todd Schenke, as well as his cherished grandchild, Noah, whom he adored. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joanne K. Schenke, and his brother, Reynold A. Schenke.
A time of gathering and remembrance will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2025, from 3:00 to 5:00 PM at Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home III, 2421 Willow Street Pike, Willow Street, PA 17584. All who knew and loved Robert are welcome to attend. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Bob’s favorite charity, the Wounded Warrior Project.
