I was saddened to read of George’s passing and send prayers and strength to Kim, Nikki, & George and the Manos Family…I will always remember George as a central figure in the Golden Age of the Lancaster Host Family….A time that we all look back on fondly. Too many have passed too soon, Marie Laughman, Kevin Bergman, Ardy Baltozer, and now George…God is definately stacking the deck with great players!

Truly saddened to hear the news this morning. My heartfelt condolences to Kim, the family, and all close to George. You chose the perfect picture, my own precious memories flood back. Heaven grabbed a great one! I was a colleague of George’s at The Host and know I was blessed to have him as a friend and confidante. Countless lunches, laughs, challenges worked through – what a guy! For me personally hanging or heading for George’s office was vital for a good laugh or a needed and calming sanity check. Reflecting on this kind and decent soul this morning what comes to mind the most. George deeply loved his wife and family. Loved his life and friends. He was sincere and real and always had an appreciation and cared for his teammates….And yes, thank the Good Lord the Eagles delivered him a Superbowl. Rest in peace, my old friend.

I am deeply saddened to hear this news. It is clear he is and was loved beyond measure. In his words and messages shared, love was always abundant for all of his family. His smile and sweet charm remained constant over the many years and as I remember him from days long passed. I can see him just as yesteryear playing wooden ships and other classic rock selections of the time, as we danced away in our teens. So many great memories. DOONIE was one of a kind always going out of his way to talk to those he knew,sharing a warm hug and kiss.  Baseball games, picnics, parties, house hopping after games will never be forgotten.  Watching all our kids grow up and seeing how wonderful they’ve all become has been so so special. Still remember the first day we met on the bleachers at the kids baseball game. “Wait what was his name?Doonie” did we catch that right?  Yep there’s no one like DOONIE kind,warm hearted, caring and certainly devoted to all his family and friends.  GO EAGLES.  GO PHILLIES. we sure did share the love of those two teams.  Rest in peace my friend you will be missed.

I had the pleasure of working with George/ Doonie Manos at the Lancaster Host. George was the Comptroller and did an exceptional job. I valued George as Executive Committee Member and admired his integrity, leadership,  and hard work.  We had some great basketball battles over the years and some tough rounds of golf. If George kept score every shot counted. I always enjoyed our Christmas Party at Strawberry Hill every year celebrating a great team, and another successful year that Kim and George would always attend.  -I laughed this morning because George is changing the play list in Heaven -Rock on Doonie.
