Jeanette R. Manning, 92
June 24, 2025
Jeanette R. Manning, 92, of Lititz, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at Brethren Village Retirement Community. Born in Conestoga, she was the daughter of the late Emanuel and Marguerite Warfel Kreider. She was the loving wife of Donald W. Rankin who died in 1982 and later married to Howard O. Manning who passed away in 2007. She graduated from the former Manor High School and later worked as a secretary for RCA. Jeanette was a member of Grace Community Church, Millersville. She had a deep love for her family and was a sociable person who will be lovingly missed. In earlier years she enjoyed traveling with family to shared vacation property at the shore. She was an avid Phillies baseball fan & didn’t miss a televised game. She also was sure to have daily (2) pieces of dark chocolate. It wasn’t right if it wasn’t Evans dark chocolate. Tootsie pops were also a common treat.
Surviving is a son, Craig husband of Jodi Rankin, a stepson, Michael Manning, a grandson, Justin Manning, and four nieces, Barbara Gilner, Lynn Miles, Karen Andreozzi, and Judy Wiest. Preceding her in passing was an infant daughter, Donna June, and two sisters, Janet and Jane Schaefer.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Jeanette’s funeral service at Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz PA 17543, on Monday, June 30, 2025, at 10:30 AM. There will be a viewing and time of visitation from 9:30 AM until the time of service. We purchased Jeanette’s home in Millersville back in 2010. When we were at our settlement meeting Jeanette pulled a bag of chocolates out of her purse and passed them around the table. This simple gesture lightened the tension/stress for my husband and I (and everyone in the room) and we never forgot it. What a sweet and kind person!! To this day, we still have her door knocker on our front door with “Manning” etched in it…I never had the heart to take it down🤣. I’m sorry for your family’s loss.

I had the privilege of caring for Jeanette. She was such a wonderful person and touched so much of us that we loved her so much that we called her Nana which she loved. Our hearts are broken but we know she’s at peace now. Sending all my love and prayers to Craig and family. God bless. Nicole Spece
