James “Jim” Clayton Row, 92
June 24, 2025
James “Jim” Clayton Row, 92, of Lititz passed away on June 24, 2025, at the United Zion Retirement Community.
Born on January 11, 1933, in Penbrook, PA. he was the son of the late Clair W. and Freda A. (Kise) Row. During his younger years, Jim served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict as a Corporal in the motor pool.
His passion for automobiles continued as he rose in the ranks through the General Motors Corporation. Serving a total of 31 years, he retired as a Zone Service Manager from GM but continued on at a few local dealerships in the Lancaster area, sharing his service expertise for a number of years.
In addition to his knowledge of cars, Jim had a passion for golf. Many weekends he could be found “taking his sticks for a walk”. In his retirement, he enjoyed staying busy as a ranger at one of his favorite links. Above all of these worldly things, Jim loved his family fiercely. He enjoyed serving them and showing his love and care for them by creating masterpieces in his woodshop that will live on in their homes.
Jim is survived by his wife of 51 years, Carol A. (Rubright), daughters, Deborah L. Norris (partner Bruce Willman), Lisa A. Row (husband James Gallagher), Jaime L. Keller (husband Michael Keller), grandchildren Melanie Norris, Erik Norris, Dan Gallagher, Ryan Gallagher, Maggie Keller, Jaicee Keller, and Maylee Keller, two great grandsons Grear Click and Andrew Norris, and a very special brother in law and sister in law, Vernon and Mary Rubright. In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his brother Robert Row, twin brother Richard Row, sister Judith (Row) Cassatt, and grandson Clayton Keller.
Dad taught us how to work hard, be a servant leader, and he will be greatly missed. He will be laid to eternal rest at Fort Indiantown Gap at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions can be made to the benevolence fund at United Zion Retirement Community in his memory.
