Marvin Keith Brubaker, 66
June 11, 2025
Marvin Keith Brubaker, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, went home to be with the Lord on June 11, 2025, at the age of 66. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Marvin and Violet (Druck) Brubaker.
Marvin was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ. Believing in His love and forgiveness. Marvin was a member of Highpoint Community Church where he shared not only the love of Jesus Christ, but his love for worshiping the Lord through playing the drums, on the worship team for a small time. Marvin’s passion for music and playing the drums didn’t just stay within the church. Marvin’s passion continued at home where he would practice as much as he could for 45 years when he was able to. Marvin’s passion for music also filled the house not just through playing the drums, but with each room having Christian Rock or Contemporary Christian music playing including one of his favorite bands being Stryper.
Marvin’s love and faith in Jesus Christ didn’t just stop at the church either. Marvin continued to spread the Good News to his friends and family. With Marvin’s faith and love being as strong as it was, it flowed into being a strong advocate for Israel and the Jewish people. Marvin also had a love for Christmas time, collecting as many Nativity scenes as he could, and decorating the household inside and out full of lights and Christmas decorations. Not only that, Marvin also built his own decorations as well, with many being hand painted, proclaiming the birth of Jesus Christ. Marvin also enjoyed trains and collecting them as well as building his own train table. Marvin enjoyed watching the Philadelphia Eagles play every year, cheering them on every season, and wearing one of his many Philadelphia Eagles hats. Marvin also loved the bald eagle. A symbol of freedom, courage, and strength.
Marvin is survived by his devoted and beloved wife, Dana L. (Angelo) Brubaker of Ephrata; his children: Jennifer Brubaker (wife of Matthias Southwick), Dalton M. Angelo and Arron C. Brubaker; his grandchildren: Marley Hummer and Theoden Southwick; two sisters: Debbie Shupp and Lisa Kilgore (wife of Dave) and his adored nieces: Ashley Kilgore and Courtney Cohen Zubow (wife of Nick).
In addition to his parents, Marvin and Violet, Marvin is preceded in death by his son, Keith Diamond Brubaker, his paternal grandmother Ethel Brubaker and his nephew Brandon Shupp.
A celebration of Marvin’s life will be held on Thursday, June 26, 2025 at Highpoint Community Church, 18 Hahnstown Rd, Ephrata, PA 17522 at 6PM. This is a beautiful Obituary. We will love and miss him always. The only thing that helps is knowing he’s home now..pain free and no worries.
I’m sure him and Brandon will be getting a band together and rocking out. Love you all. Lisa G Kilgore
