John C. Krow III, 59
May 30, 2025
John C. Krow III, 59, of Pequea, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Friday, May 30th, 2025. John was born in Lancaster and was the son of John C. Krow Jr. and the late Roselotte (Jung) Krow.
John was a graduate of JP McCaskey High School, where he earned a varsity letter in swimming. He devoted 42 years working in the food service industry at Andy’s Catering, Lancaster Country Day School, and Franklin and Marshall College. He met amazing coworkers throughout his career who he considered a second family.
John was an avid sports fan who rooted for the 49ers, Penn State, Orioles, Celtics, Tarheels, Flyers, and Hershey Bears. John’s greatest joys were a good meal, playing board games, spending time with his family, and feeling waves crash on his feet at the beach.
John was truly one of a kind, the most joyful and sweet human being you could meet. He had a light that lifted everyone around him. He had this incredibly magical way of turning even the hardest day around with his spirit and big smile, like you were the most important person in the world. He would talk to people with genuine joy and curiosity, and he brought out the best in everyone. There was such a childlike wonder in the way he saw the world, so honest, so kind, so full of heart. He gave more love to this world than most people even try to, and he did it naturally.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Roselotte (Jung) Krow. Surviving in addition to his father, John C. Krow Jr. and companion Peggy Roth, his sister Rose M. Henry and her Husband Dean, his uncle, Donald Krow, and his nieces Brianna Kauffman and her husband Jordan, Brooke Henry, Brynn Henry and her husband James Newcomb, Megan Henry-Wilson and husband Tom. He is also survived by his great nephews Easton and Owen Kauffman; and Shaun, Myles, and Olly Henry-Wilson.
John will be laid to rest at Conestoga Memorial Park. Services will be private to include family only.

John was a big part of my adolescence as he worked for my parents catering business. I remember loading trucks and unloading trucks. John was always happy. Always worked harder than most. I am honored to have known him

To the Krow Family,
I went to McCaskey with John and also was on the swim team with him. Everyone knew John. He had such a positive spirit and always the biggest smile. We are in the midst of planning the class reunion and had hoped that John would attend. The committee has spent the day looking back at our memories of John and our sadness on his passing. We were all lucky to have had him touch our lives. He will be missed.I am so sorry for your loss.

For the family.
I still remember when John and his Mother came into Andy’s Catering looking for a job. We didn’t have full time but we took John on for part time. Well within 2 weeks John was full time. Always a smile on his face when he came to work. Once he learned the routine he was always doing what needed to be done. His height came in handy, anytime we could not reach I would call John and he would say. What do you need. Always talking sports, his beloved 49er’s, Hershey Bears, baseball, he knew a lot about sports.
Christmas he would give us a German Stollen and Resling wine.
We kept in touch over the years, John would call and talk sports and ask how everyone was. I told stories about his work ethic to my high school students.
John was a good human and will be missed. Thank you to John’s sister and family for taking him in.

Dear Krow Family,
I was John’s General manager for the last 11 years here at F&M. I’ve been manager to thousands of people over the years and very few affected me like John. He came to work every single day with the biggest smile, the greatest attitude and always gave his 100%.
I must say, the paragraph that starts with “John was truly one of a kind”…. Is as accurate as can be.
I am blessed to have had John in my life and believe that he has made me a better person.
As you go through this tough time, please know that John’s family here is grieving greatly as well for the wonderful human John was.
In Sympathy,
Drew Niemann
