Robert Charles “Bob” Ruof, 94

Robert Charles “Bob” Ruof, 94, of Lancaster, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 26, 2025, at his home. Born in Lancaster he was the son of the late Robert and Geneva Devers Ruof. He was the loving husband of Barbara A. Sharp Ruof and they observed 68 years of marriage this past November. Bob was a 1948 graduate of Manor Millersville High School and later went on to serve in the Unites States Naval Reserves for 12 years. He owned and operated Ruof’s Flower Shop where his beautiful floral arrangements left a lasting impact on all those he encountered. He was a faithful member of the former St. Paul United Methodist Church, Lancaster, since 1964. Bob was dedicated to his family and very involved in his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren’s lives. For many years he was a leader in his son’s boy scouts troop # 268. Bob was also a member of the Optimist Club for 46 years and was an organ enthusiast who enjoyed listening to music. One of his proudest accomplishments was when he was invited by President Reagan to the White House, as a representative of Lancaster’s small business association.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Barbara, is a son, Kevin Ray Ruof, Lancaster, five grandchildren, as well as numerous great and great great grandchildren. Also surviving are three siblings, Marilyn Nell, Michigan, Janice Palmer, Maine, and Russel Ruof, Colorado. Preceding him in passing was a son, Bradley Ruof, and a brother, Reverend Dr. Richard Ruof.
Services will be private with interment being in Conestoga Memorial Park.

Grandpa,
I miss you so much already, I know you are at peace now and feel much better. You are surrounded by a lot of people you love up there!!! Grandma will be ok, I will help her!!! I love you!! Right now I can imagine you saying to me “ok, you bet” instead of “I love you too” sometimes you said it, more often then not it was “you bet”I WILL LOVE YOU ALWAYS AND FOREVER,
