Earl Frederick Boots, Sr., 98
April 15, 1927 - May 13, 2025
Through many tears the family of Earl Frederick Boots, Sr. announce his passing on May 13, 2025, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was 98 years of age. Earl was welcomed into the world on April 15, 1927, to Clarence E. and Harriet E. (Brodis) Boots, in Lancaster. He shared over 75 years of love, memories, and a beautiful family with his devoted wife, Mary Elizabeth (Curtis) Boots.
A dutiful husband, an inspiring father, a man who cherished his family, and a beacon to his community, were a few resounding qualities many remember Earl for. He was jovial and comedic by nature; always a jokester making others smile. His generous nature and warm spirit reflected in extending himself to those in his community, as well as visiting local nursing homes to uplift others and make them laugh.
Earl will be remembered by many as a pillar of his family and community. His love and legacy will live on in his wife Mary, their children, Earl F. “Papa” Boots, Jr. and Bonita B. Borden, wife of Willie, all of Lancaster, grandchildren, Nicole “Nick” Boots (Sorina) of Lancaster, Monique Boots (Greg Foster) of West Virginia, Lyndell Gjanci of Lancaster, and Aaron Kyle Potts of Lancaster, great-grandchildren, Nicole O’Shen Giebus (Cynthia) of Cochranville, N’Gai L. Brabham II, Briana N. Boots, and Bonita Gonzalez Boots, all of Lancaster, and his sisters, Lorraine F. Adams (Boots) of Pineville, NC, Yvonne L. Boots of Lancaster, and his only Godchild Kimberly L Williams.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Clarence B. Boots, Elwin W. Boots, Sr., Raymond A. Boots, Sr., Janet M. Christian, Beatrice J Cooper (Boots) and Theresa M. Mobley (Boots)
A Homegoing Celebration will be held in honor of Earl on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church, 450 E. Strawberry St. Lancaster, PA 17602, beginning at 11 AM. The family welcome guests to a viewing at the church from 9 AM until the time of service. Interment to follow at Mellinger Mennonite Cemetery.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution to St. Jude’s and/or Hospice and Community Care of Lancaster.
