Parke Nelson King, Jr.
April 29, 2025
Parke Nelson King Jr., died unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at his home. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of Parke Nelson King Sr. (Betty) and Phyllis Jean (DeMora) King. Parke was the loving husband of Kristina M. “Tina” (Forte) King. He was a proud graduate of Conestoga Valley High School. Parke spent his career on the road as a truck driver before his retirement. He was a proud “pappy” who enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchild.
An avid fan of Philadelphia sports, you could find him rooting for both the Eagles and Phillies. He was fondly referred to as “Coach King” by many through his years of teaching little league football and baseball. His love of sports derived from his childhood, which carried into young adulthood where his athleticism stuck with him participating in all sports. Both Avalon and Ocean City, Maryland beach was where he enjoyed soaking up the rays alongside his family and loved listening to the sound of the waves crash. On these beaches, many memories were made. Parke also loved spending time in the Mountains in Potter County. His personality was nothing short of shy and enjoyed connecting with anyone and everyone.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Tina and parents, are three children Ashley M. King, Brandon L. King, and Tyler S. King and his significant other, Kristin Eck. His beloved grandson, Jayden as well as siblings, Jody A. wife of Jim Sheppard, Wayne D. husband of Lisa King, Pam J. wife of Jerry Bigelow as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and extended family who will greatly miss him. Preceding him in death was an infant brother, Jerry L. King.
A celebration of life for Parke will be held at Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz PA 17543, on Saturday May 10, 2025, from 10:00 AM -12:00 PM. I am deeply saddened by the passing of Parke. I worked with him for years (Brandon and Tyler also) at Dart Container. He could brighten a bad day with bear hug that would literally take your feet off the ground. Being an avid PHILLIES and EAGLES fan myself, these were the topics, and arguments of many of our discussions Please accept my condolences to the family, he will be greatly missed. RIP Parke❤🙏
