Alice M. LeQuin, 94

Alice M. (Ulmer) LeQuin, 94, of Willow Street, PA, a beloved wife, mom, grandma, and great grandma passed away peacefully on Friday, November 8, 2024, at Willow Valley Communities – Lakeside. Born May 8, 1930, in Hepburnville, PA to the late Mary Louise (Fisher) Ulmer and Nelson Waltz Ulmer. She was the fourth of six children and was the last living sibling as all have preceded her in death including sisters Grace Merrill, Marie Straw, Ann Bonniwell, Margaret Schmidt, and brother Paul Ulmer.
Alice grew up in Williamsport, PA, where she graduated from high school. After high school, she worked as a long-distance telephone operator for Bell Telephone for a couple of years and then entered training to be a nurse at Philadelphia General Hospital where she graduated with an RN degree. While working at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Alice worked in the nation’s first Neonatal Surgical Intensive Care Unit as one of the first Neonatal Nurses, quite an honor to have. Her career as a Registered Nurse lasted for over 40 years.
She married James S. LeQuin on July 23, 1960, and lived in Southampton, PA until the early 90’s when they moved to Hatboro, PA for about 10 years before moving to Willow Street, PA in 2003.
She loved to do Cross Stitch and various other crafts, and her hobbies included baking, reading, and traveling. She was a member of the Baptist church and devout Christian throughout her life.
Her survivors include her loving and devoted husband of 64 years, James LeQuin of Willow Street, PA. Daughters Beth LeQuin of Dove Canyon, CA and Allison LeQuin of Washington, DC. Grandchildren Blaire Miller, Chelsea Redmond, Morgan Redmond, Ben Miller and one great-grandchild, Chase. As well as many nieces and nephews.
Interment took place privately for her immediate family at Sunset Memorial Park in Huntingdon Valley, PA.
