George Mobarak, 67

November 4, 1956 - October 29, 2024

George Mobarak went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, October 29. Born on November 4, 1956, in Tupper Lake, New York, George was the son of Mary (Moubar) Mobarak and Elias Mobarak. He grew up in Buffalo, New York, where he attended Kenmore East, meeting his high school sweetheart, Sharon, who would become his beloved wife of 46 years.

George was a selfless man of profound faith. His love for Jesus was evident in all he did both personally and professionally. In 1989, he relocated his family from Buffalo, NY to Lancaster County, where he made a significant impact in the business community. Throughout his impressive career, George held key positions in several companies, including DuPont (Niagara Falls), Conestoga Wood Specialties (East Earl), Signature Custom Cabinetry (Ephrata), and most recently, Vice President at Dutch Valley Food Distributors (Myerstown).

George was also deeply committed to his community. In 2001 he was elected to the Warwick School District Board of Directors, while also being involved in associations such as the Lancaster Chamber of Commerce, Society for Human Resource Management, and had served on the boards of Lancaster County Academy, and most recently Stoltzfus Meats. As an active member of the Worship Center (Leola), George led a marriage support group and would volunteer in children’s ministry. For over 30 years, he gathered weekly with a close-knit group of friends for Bible study, where they shared insights and deepened their faith together.

George’s passion for Buffalo sports, especially the Bills and Sabres, brought many joyous moments (and heartbreaking ones) as he frequently hosted family and friends to enjoy his famous chicken wings while cheering on his teams. He was a talented drummer and loved music, having served in worship ministry and performing with groups such as the Moonlighters Big Band of Lititz and the Lititz Community Band over the years. George became an avid golfer later in life and cherished his time on the course with close family and friends.

George’s greatest pride was his family. He was a loving and intentional father to four children: Jessica Lee Moister (husband Andrew, children Evelyn, Lincoln, Solomon), Nicole Marie Diller (husband Josh, children Chloe, Vivian, Silas, Violet), Alexander Elias Mobarak (wife Chantal, children Leo, Zeke, Georgia), and Andrew George Mobarak (wife Angela, children Jonas, Bennett, Louie, Asa, Archer). He took immense joy in being “Pops” to his 15 grandchildren, his legacy will live on through the love and values he instilled in them. George is survived by his loving wife, Sharon Lee Mobarak (Dein), siblings: Anne Marie, Louise, Richard, Kathy, his late brother Simon, and his best man cousin Joe. His life was a testament to love, faith, and dedication to family. He will be forever missed.

Visitation with the family will take place on Sunday, November 10th, 2024, from 3pm to 5pm, at Worship Center, 2384 New Holland Pike, Lancaster, PA 17601. A Celebration of Life service will immediately follow. You can view George’s service by going to worshipcenter.org/funeral.

I am so blessed that you shared George with us at Conestoga Wood Specialties. You tell us that the employment opportunity at Conestoga was why your family made the move to Lancaster, PA. So thankful that your family made the move and I had the opportunity to enjoy George’s exciting personality in a work environment!
I still remember meeting George and your family for the first time at my parents house. At that first meeting, George shared about a fishing trip on a lake. The captain was convinced that they would catch fish but it was not to happen. George wasn’t sure if the captain blamed him for the reason for a bad fishing trip?
There are so many more great memories of George. I am sure you can agree and for your loss, I pray you all are blessed by God’s amazing love and comfort!

Wonderful individual from the years that I got to work with him as I did. Made a very big impact on seeing differently how business and life should be handled. I wish to express my condolences to the family and that he will be missed. I have nothing but good thoughts of this individual and the impact that he has made on my life from when I first met him years ago at Signature. Truly, a great individual cared very much about those around him and that is something that I strive to do myself each and every day. Only one thing that I ever disagreed with him about was that he was a Buffalo Bills fan and I am a dolphin fan. Shane pfeiffer

We share in our family’s pain during this time. Uncle George was full of love and life and was open to how God could use Him to save and impact so many lives here on earth. We are so sad but are also excited to know that George will expectantly await us joining him in the most heavenly of parties with his signature big smile and even bigger hugs. We love you Uncle George, Aunt Sharon, Jess, Nicole, Alex, Andrew and all the spouses and grandkids.
