Alva E. Baker, PA

Alva E. Baker, 86, of Lancaster, passed away on October 11, 2024 at Oak Leaf Manor South in Millersville.
He was the husband of the late Beverly A. Stallings Baker, who passed away one day after, on October 12, 2024. They had shared 65 years of marriage this past December 5th. Born in Waldo, OH, he was the son of the late Alva A. and Esther Heiby Baker.
Alva served in the US Army from 1958 to 1959 in the Armor Corps as a private, and also in the Ohio National Guard and US Army Reserves until 1961.
He worked as a film processor at RR Donnelly and Sons for 43 years until his retirement.
He was a member of St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church and enjoyed hunting and fishing, riding his bike, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his children: Rhonda Wertz of Kersey, PA, Alva Dennis Baker of Lititz, PA, Bonnie Baker of Brooksville, FL, Sharon married to Michael Moore of Lancaster, and Barbara married to James Krouse of Coto de Caza, CA; 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, his sister, Shirley Danhoff, and brother, Don Baker. He was preceded in death by his infant children, Stephen and Elizabeth along with siblings Ralph, Marjory and Janet.
