He was a good uncle! I remember when I was just a child he would take us fishing and picking wild berries… as I grew up I played soccer with him for a year on the team… he’s the only uncle I communicated with although I have two other uncle from my mother’s side. One of the few times we talked over the phone he mentioned to me how family was important and how he was changing his perspective and views on race marriages as he was getting older. He said the most important thing was not the color of your skin but the love for your family and the love between the two persons involved. During covid times we had a discussion over the phone about family and our well beings. He called to asked how my family was doing and we talked about life. Last time I talked to him was at my younger sisters father’s day gathering of 2024… When he arrived with his family and after saying hello to everyone…He came over to me and I pulled a chair out for him as well as a refreshing beverage. We sat and looked at our kids playing in the swimming pool screaming, laughing, eating and just having family around us. We talked about being father’s and politics. Had a few laughs and just enjoyed celebrating father’s days. Through the years I’ve seen him change as a man of stereotyping to a man of understanding! That you can’t control what you can’t control but you can try to understand the differences and come to an agreement that in the end family and love is all you need. No one is perfect in life it is only what you make of it that truly counts. I will miss him, he was a good uncle in my eyes. Chue Lee

Alexia and the entire Lee family, I am so sorry for your loss. Alexia, the pain of losing a parent is practically unbearable. Just remember that your dad will be with you always. His love will continue to surround you and live within you. I pray that the hole that you feel in your heart will eventually be filled with loving memories that will carry you through. Sending you big hugs my dear girl. Jen Buck
