Bob and I were lifelong friends. We lived a couple of blocks apart and met in first grade at the old Emigsville school house. In the early years we rode bikes, built forts, went swimming and hung out at his house or mine. When we got a little older, we occasionally found some mischief to get into. One day we found a dead groundhog and decided it would look nice hanging in the back yard of a nasty old neighbor lady. When she discovered the critter, “that Keeney boy” and “that Cruse boy” were quickly identified as the culprits. During our high school years we were often together hunting or fishing in the creek in our free time. Bob was always a hard worker and would caddy at the Outdoor Country Club. I had lawn care jobs and we would meet up for an evening swim after work. I have so many memories of times our families shared at the shore and at the Lake Carey cabin. I will treasure them always. Rest in peace my friend.
